Nuggets choke in playoffs

The New look Nuggets are no match for the Oklahoma Thunder.  The Nuggets could not hit a shot in game three even though they big time open looks they were missing easy layups.  No one could hit a big shot.  JR Smith is the only person on the team that isn't afraid to shoot in crunch time.  Unfortunately he hit a cold spell causing a lead to become a deficit in a hurry.  The Nuggets missed 15 free throws if they hit on half there misses they would have won.  That, and if your aunt had balls she would be your uncle.

The Thunder used the "hack a NENE" technique they made a pact no layups for NENE and it worked Nene hit just 50% of his free throws. Kevin Durant did not have a great night, nor did Westbrook they both shot below average but that was good enough for this game.

The Nuggets have lost this series even if they win the next game, no NBA team has come back from 0-3 and won a series.  The Nuggets have to make some moves this off season.  Someone who will make threes, free throws, and can count on in crunch time.  Ray Felton is good point guard but he wants to start he should get a pretty good return on a trade.  JR Smith had a temper tantrum about playing time had a chance last night and proved why George Karl is right.  Quick contested shots early in fourth quarter helped Oklahoma get the lead back.  JR is inconsistent on both ends of the court it is tough to play him in big games.  That said at this point what have you got to lose.  Play JR at least he has the balls to take the big shot.

Denver Nuggets face Oklahoma in first round

The Nugget lose their last game against Utah the final game of the season.  More importantly they may have lost Ty Lawson for awhile ty suffered a sprained ankle in the second quarter.  The Nuggets will face their worst matchup for the first round.  The first game in Oklahoma will prove a difficult match for Denver.  The need a split and hold home court, so the new look Nuggets are 0-2 against the Thunder.

If Denver is to win this series they need to do three things:

Shoot free throws.

Nene needs get aggressive and go to the hole.

They cannot continue with some of the turnovers they have done lately.

Denver will have the return of Chris Anderson and Wilson Chandler for the first game.  Latest report is Ty has a minor sprain and he will be ready to go.

Denver Nuggets going to the Playoffs

Denver Nuggets are heading to the playoffs and hopefully won’t be playing Oklahoma City.  The Thunder have dominated the New look Nuggets.  Not only did they beat Denver in Denver but they dominated Denver in Oklahoma their worst loss since the trade.  The Nuggets for whatever reason do not match well against the Thunder.  The Nuggets must start hitting free throws if they are going to be beat anybody in the playoffs.  Nene has really struggled at the charity stripe.
In a Positive note Ty Lawson had great game against Minnesota hitting 10 3pt shots.  Ty hitting threes means the Nuggets should be able to score easier.   Denver faces Golden State tonight a win will clinch the  5th seed and a 50 game winning season.

Nuggets beat LA

The Denver Nuggets pulled off a huge victory over the LA Lakers 95-90 in LA. The Nuggets showed something I haven't seen with a Denver Nuggets team before. A tough physical team that does the pushing and fights for every ball and rebound. The Nuggets are going to be a tough match for anybody in the playoffs. Denver Nugget Kenyon Martin seals game as he pushed Lamar Odom under the basket then got the bad free throw and dunked it on his head. Nene played well giving the Lakers more than they could handle. Bynum and Gasul could not handle his speed or his ability.

The as the media asked Kobe whats different he said something like “not much except there deep, and their second unit is like playing a starting unit”. Oh Kobe big there is a big difference this team plays defense. The Nuggets wore the Lakers out in the second half.

Nuggets Sneak by Sacramento

Denver Nuggets get by the Sacramento Kings in a chippy, ugly and competitive contest.  The Kings led in the early going and finished with a slight lead going into  halftime.  The Nuggets came out in the third period with a full court press.  The tough defense continued with the Nuggets being physical and wearing the Kings down with their suffocating defense.

Forth Quarter action became heated with just more than a minute to play when Danilo Gallinari slapped hard at the ball but hit DeMarcus Cousins in the throat. The hard foul led to a technical foul on Gallinari. After the technical was called, Kings center Samuel Dalembert was called for a technical when he put his hand around the back of Gallinari's neck. Kenyon Martin and Ray felton intervined as Gallinari walked away.

Another solid win for the Denver Nuggets in tough test getting them ready for the playoffs.  Oh, and the Nuggets will be tough match for anyone in the playoffs with physical play and pressure defense.

Nuggets Sneak by Kings 104-94

Denver Nuggets beat the Sacramento Kings on a first game of a home and home series.  Nuggets struggled early but fought on to win.  As good as the Nuggets are playing they are in tough race with the forth spot Oklahoma Thunder and the sixth spot Portland Trailblazers.  So the game tonight against the Kings is an important game.  It is unlikely the Nuggets will catch the Thunder for the forth seed and home court advantage in the opening round.  But, the Nuggets do not want to lose the fifth spot to Portland either.

The next test after today is the LA LAkers that is an excellent test for the new look Nuggets on the Road.  A good game their will raise some eyebrows as it is I don't think anybody wants to play the Nuggets in the Playoffs.  I just don't think it will be easy for any team to beat four games.  The Nuggets have not lost one game since the trade by more than 10 points.  They won several games by more than 20 points.  They compete they defend and they pass.  A dangerous team to say the least.

Ultimate Nuggets: Denver Nuggets Trade

Ultimate Nuggets: Denver Nuggets Trade: "Carmelo Anthony married LALA Vasquez who wanted to live on the east coast. Carmelo wanting to make his wife happy decided he would play fo..."

Nuggets thump Wizards

Denver Nugget fans are on very happy since the "TRADE".  The Nuggets are now 12-4 post Melo trade with the Knicks.  The Nuggets played a the hopeless Wizards a team they should beat.  However, in the past this game is the type the Nuggets would lose.  The Nuggets used spirited play from Chris "Birdman" Anderson 17pts and 11 rebounds not to mention 5 blocks.  Chris brought it tonight and lifted a close game in the first quarter to a "sail away" game starting in the second quarter.

The Wizards would not get closer than 14 in the second half.  Tough defense combined with 31 assists on offense means your going to win.  The Nuggets did not have starting guards Arron Afflalo and Wilson Chandler for this game, they didn't need them.  Nuggets have the Kings next and then  Oklahoma City a team they are trying to catch for fouth place in the standings and home court for the playoffs.

Nugget defeat San Antonio at Home

Who would think that an NBA team would trade their two best player and end up a better team. Who knew that good team work and passing still wins NBA basketball games.  Who knew that the NY KNicks would be worse while the Denver Nuggets are better.  Ny Knicks since trading for Carmelo 7-9 Denver Nuggets 11-4.  The Nuggets were down by as many as 14 points and yet they still came back  and won the game 115-112.  The Denver Nuggets beat the best team in the NBA.

So folks get used to the New Nuggets.  Oh you don't know them now but you will.

Nuggets Top Hornets

While everyone is watching superstar's on the New York Knicks play to post trade record of 6-5.  The new look Nuggets with Denver not good enough and the New York Knicks rejects have rolled to a 8-2 post trade record.

With another quality win in New Orlean's against Chris Paul and the Hornets the Nuggets pulled out another win.  A workman, team basketball that the fan's love and opponents can't figure out in today's modern NBA.

What's the secret according to Georg Karl "it's not hard we play hard on both ends of the court" which this team does.

The Nuggets hit 17 three point shots that were all open looks.  The Nuggets aren't known for hitting three's are doing it consistently because they "PASS" the ball.  They play defense and penetrate the lane for easy kick outs.  Yup, it's still early but the Nuggets are getting noticed by the hometown fans and opposing NBA coach's let the Playoffs begin.

Nuggets Destroy Pistons

Every night with the new look Nuggets their is somebody to step up.  Tonight JR Smith went off with 8 3 pointers en-route to 31 point night.  The Pistons had no answer and look like they quit trying in the 3rd quarter.  The Nugget Point guards are to much for almost all teams.  Dishing out assists and not turning the ball over is the secret to success.  TNT recently turned the Nuggets away for a national tv game with the Suns.  Reason:  Lack of Star Power, with no Stars on team they didn't want to televise.  To bad with this no Stars team has meant better Basketball.  This team is a Joy to watch as the "SELL OUT" crowd gave them a standing "O" after there 30point victory over the Pistons.  So TNT TV showed the Knicks play no defense and lose to Dallas while the Nuggets are showing how real Basketball should be played.

On the Dark side of the Nuggets is couple things that might bite them in the playoffs.  Poor free throw shooting and no designated closer in close game.  Carmelo is one of best clutch closers in the game for the last shot Carmelo was great, the second Choice Chancey Billups is also good with his excellent three throw shooting he can also close out games.  The Nuggets now close out the games by committee, George Karl has done an excellent job substituting to compensate giving the guy with the hot hand extra time but in playoff time it could be a concern.

Denver Nuggets beat Down Suns

Steve who?   Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns showed that he is mortal as Denver Nuggets Ty Lawson outplayed the venerable point guard.  The Nuggets used youth, athleticism and great team work on both ends of the court to stifle the Phoenix offense.  The Nuggets are 6-2 since the trade and playing great ball.  They are more fun to watch, competitive and I think could be a real challenge in playoffs.  Lets see who goes further the Denver Nuggets or the NY Knicks.

Denver Nuggets Trade

Carmelo Anthony married LALA Vasquez who wanted to live on the east coast. Carmelo wanting to make his wife happy decided he would play for the Knicks. It had nothing to do with boyhood dreams, otherwise he would signed the shorter contract like LeBron did after his rookie contract was due to expire. He also said he wanted to play for a Contender, he got to the Western Conference Finals in Denver and that isn't a being a Contender? No, instead we got "Melo drama" a high stakes game that the Denver Nuggets management pushed until near the deadline to get the most they could. They did get the most they could at a high price.

They lost a quality player in Chauncey Billups who playing here was his dream and now he has been burned twice by this organization. The Nuggets have burned Marcus Camby, Antonio McDyess, and now Chauncey Billups in the name of "business" we will go into more detail in another post. Denver has bad reputation for not hanging on to players. Nuggets also lost Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, and Renandlo Blackman in this trade.

In return we got quality players, cash and some draft picks. The players are Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Timofey Mozgov and Kosta Koufos. Gallinari, Felton and Chandler can all play the others we have not seen yet as of this post. I thinking the overrated Birdman can give up some minutes to check out Mozgov he was a starter in NY.

The Nuggets lost a tough one to Portland in Portland. I think this team can be very good without a superstar. Although i'm thinking Gallinari is maybe one real soon. The knock on him is he don't play Defense. I haven't seen it with the Nuggets he has put some effort into "d" and has blocks rebounds to prove it.
