NUGGETS make the playoffs

The Denver Nuggets are show some live in there 2016/2017 run.  Here is how they make the playoffs. Image for the news result Pray Nikola Jokic doesn't get injured.  Start Jameer Nelson at point guard and keep Mudiay on the bench.  I know it is a mortal sin to disparage him but I think the Denver post Kliza summed it up pretty good: "There are simply too many holes in Mudiay’s game. As a rookie, he shot 36.4 percent from the field, and his accuracy is slightly worse this season. His assists are down. His turnovers are up. He is big for a point guard, but not particularly explosive, which explains why Mudiay has trouble finishing at the rim. His confidence is as capricious as an adolescent".  Then after the season ends get a real coach  Get a good point guard  I see these mock drafts going for another center.  NO, go get a good point guard such as Lonzo Ball.  Do it.

Nuggets choke in playoffs

The New look Nuggets are no match for the Oklahoma Thunder.  The Nuggets could not hit a shot in game three even though they big time open looks they were missing easy layups.  No one could hit a big shot.  JR Smith is the only person on the team that isn't afraid to shoot in crunch time.  Unfortunately he hit a cold spell causing a lead to become a deficit in a hurry.  The Nuggets missed 15 free throws if they hit on half there misses they would have won.  That, and if your aunt had balls she would be your uncle.

The Thunder used the "hack a NENE" technique they made a pact no layups for NENE and it worked Nene hit just 50% of his free throws. Kevin Durant did not have a great night, nor did Westbrook they both shot below average but that was good enough for this game.

The Nuggets have lost this series even if they win the next game, no NBA team has come back from 0-3 and won a series.  The Nuggets have to make some moves this off season.  Someone who will make threes, free throws, and can count on in crunch time.  Ray Felton is good point guard but he wants to start he should get a pretty good return on a trade.  JR Smith had a temper tantrum about playing time had a chance last night and proved why George Karl is right.  Quick contested shots early in fourth quarter helped Oklahoma get the lead back.  JR is inconsistent on both ends of the court it is tough to play him in big games.  That said at this point what have you got to lose.  Play JR at least he has the balls to take the big shot.

Denver Nuggets face Oklahoma in first round

The Nugget lose their last game against Utah the final game of the season.  More importantly they may have lost Ty Lawson for awhile ty suffered a sprained ankle in the second quarter.  The Nuggets will face their worst matchup for the first round.  The first game in Oklahoma will prove a difficult match for Denver.  The need a split and hold home court, so the new look Nuggets are 0-2 against the Thunder.

If Denver is to win this series they need to do three things:

Shoot free throws.

Nene needs get aggressive and go to the hole.

They cannot continue with some of the turnovers they have done lately.

Denver will have the return of Chris Anderson and Wilson Chandler for the first game.  Latest report is Ty has a minor sprain and he will be ready to go.

Denver Nuggets going to the Playoffs

Denver Nuggets are heading to the playoffs and hopefully won’t be playing Oklahoma City.  The Thunder have dominated the New look Nuggets.  Not only did they beat Denver in Denver but they dominated Denver in Oklahoma their worst loss since the trade.  The Nuggets for whatever reason do not match well against the Thunder.  The Nuggets must start hitting free throws if they are going to be beat anybody in the playoffs.  Nene has really struggled at the charity stripe.
In a Positive note Ty Lawson had great game against Minnesota hitting 10 3pt shots.  Ty hitting threes means the Nuggets should be able to score easier.   Denver faces Golden State tonight a win will clinch the  5th seed and a 50 game winning season.

Nuggets beat LA

The Denver Nuggets pulled off a huge victory over the LA Lakers 95-90 in LA. The Nuggets showed something I haven't seen with a Denver Nuggets team before. A tough physical team that does the pushing and fights for every ball and rebound. The Nuggets are going to be a tough match for anybody in the playoffs. Denver Nugget Kenyon Martin seals game as he pushed Lamar Odom under the basket then got the bad free throw and dunked it on his head. Nene played well giving the Lakers more than they could handle. Bynum and Gasul could not handle his speed or his ability.

The as the media asked Kobe whats different he said something like “not much except there deep, and their second unit is like playing a starting unit”. Oh Kobe big there is a big difference this team plays defense. The Nuggets wore the Lakers out in the second half.

Nuggets Sneak by Sacramento

Denver Nuggets get by the Sacramento Kings in a chippy, ugly and competitive contest.  The Kings led in the early going and finished with a slight lead going into  halftime.  The Nuggets came out in the third period with a full court press.  The tough defense continued with the Nuggets being physical and wearing the Kings down with their suffocating defense.

Forth Quarter action became heated with just more than a minute to play when Danilo Gallinari slapped hard at the ball but hit DeMarcus Cousins in the throat. The hard foul led to a technical foul on Gallinari. After the technical was called, Kings center Samuel Dalembert was called for a technical when he put his hand around the back of Gallinari's neck. Kenyon Martin and Ray felton intervined as Gallinari walked away.

Another solid win for the Denver Nuggets in tough test getting them ready for the playoffs.  Oh, and the Nuggets will be tough match for anyone in the playoffs with physical play and pressure defense.

Nuggets Sneak by Kings 104-94

Denver Nuggets beat the Sacramento Kings on a first game of a home and home series.  Nuggets struggled early but fought on to win.  As good as the Nuggets are playing they are in tough race with the forth spot Oklahoma Thunder and the sixth spot Portland Trailblazers.  So the game tonight against the Kings is an important game.  It is unlikely the Nuggets will catch the Thunder for the forth seed and home court advantage in the opening round.  But, the Nuggets do not want to lose the fifth spot to Portland either.

The next test after today is the LA LAkers that is an excellent test for the new look Nuggets on the Road.  A good game their will raise some eyebrows as it is I don't think anybody wants to play the Nuggets in the Playoffs.  I just don't think it will be easy for any team to beat four games.  The Nuggets have not lost one game since the trade by more than 10 points.  They won several games by more than 20 points.  They compete they defend and they pass.  A dangerous team to say the least.
